The outburst about division and undermining the Labour Party from the Right-wing is perhaps the most insulting aspect of this ongoing civil war.
There are calls for unity coming from the so-called centrist of the Labour party, funny this is the position they now take after years of undermining and betraying the Left, it’s so cynical at best condescending.
In fact, their siren calls to come together and fight the Tories is downright insulting, for the Left, we’ve been fighting the Tories all our lives and every time we get a chance at winning the right of the Labour Party create chaos, giving just enough cover for the Tories to continue.
The enemy within…
“A political Party can survive its fools, bad policies, weak personalities and even their ambitions. But it cannot survive the enemy within… In comparison, an enemy at the gates is less formidable, for they are known and carry their banner openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, their sly whispers rustling through all its organisations, its branches, its executive, these whispers of dissent and division are heard in the very halls of parliament echoes within the dark recesses of Westminster itself. For the traitor appears not as a traitor; they speak in accents familiar to their comrades, they wear their face and their arguments, they appeal to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all the Party. They rot the soul of the Party, They work secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars and the very foundations that Party is built upon, they infect the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A destroyer of ideology, an agent of the oligarchy a traitor to the many on behalf of the few. An enemy at the gates is far less formidable, they are the enemy you see coming, with a traitor its too late!” – Paul knaggs -A bastardised quote from the original by Taylor Caldwell, A Pillar of Iron
We witnessed what the ‘Labour’s Right wing’ mean by ‘unity’ in 2016 with their little coup. A coup this Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer participated in.
We have seen how they fight to stop the Left from gaining office, In 2017 the Revelations of #LabourLeaks showed how far the Labour Right were willing to go, essentially throwing an election to ensure Corbyn did not get into No.10.
In working against Corbyn the Right-wing of the Labour Party were not just preventing Corbyn from gaining power, they were upholding the status quo while protecting the establishment, these Labour staffers in their selfishness and fight to stop Corbyn from winning condemned millions to the relentlessness of Tory excess.
The Labour leaks showed the Whatsapp messages from staffers who worked against their own party in the general election of 2017, no wonder Starmer’s burying the Forde enquiry into the leaked documents. That election the Tories won by a little over Three thousand votes, a victory that allowed them to continue their austerity policies resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths.
The only unity Starmer has shown is to these staffers, he buried the Forde report and reinstated the suspended staffers even before the enquire was finished.
For the Labour right there was no unity when they deserted the official Labour Party policy of ‘No second referendum!’ they created the Peoples vote, an organisation whose directors were all anti-Corbyn Blairites. Peter Mandelson, Roland Rudd, Labour members rushed out to join Lord Mandelson’s and his so-called Peoples Vote, while ironically still shouting Corbyn has always been on the right side of history, a shame you never listened to him.
The Peoples vote, a campaign in stark opposition to Labour policy, that policy of respecting the referendum result that helped garner so much support in 2017, lost. Mandelson’s Peoples vote was nothing but a front to carry the naive and split the Corbyn support.
These people topped it off in 2018 when Sir Keir Starmer set the Party up to fail, turning a composite motion into a Remain campaign, sucking in the gullible enabling a vote losing manifesto, the key factor to bringing about Labour’s biggest defeat since 1935.
60 seats lost, 6 Scottish, 54 English, of those 54 seats 52 were Red Wall Leave-voting constituencies, all gone and probably more to lose, yet Starmer the architect of that policy is now the leader of the Labour party. Who would have guessed telling the majority to vote again would have brought about a disaster, actually, we did!
Seriously what did they think the outcome of telling the majority they ‘voted wrong do it again’ would produce, applause?
The Labour membership ushered Starmer in on a ‘promise of that ‘UNITY’ that unity they speak so loudly of today. In return for that support, the Left received its just desserts, Proscriptions, thousands of Left-wing members suspended or expelled.
Starmer’s unity has brought Labour the suppression of his political rivals, of personal enemies and all those that would see the emancipation of people wherever they are, be it Peterbouroug or Palestine, he has exiled the former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn at his pleasure, like some tyrant of a Byzantine court.
For what, what does Starmer offer?
The Labour Right has nothing to offer, they have brought you the idea of ‘TINA’ the promise of change that stirred a nation creating Europes biggest political Party has turned into a mantra of Thatcher’s “There Is No Alternative!” The Labour Party has fulfilled Tony Benns prophetic vision when he declared:
“If the Labour Party could be bullied or persuaded to denounce its Marxists, the media – having tasted blood – would demand next that it expelled all its Socialist and reunited the remaining Labour Party with the SDP to form a harmless alternative to the Conservatives, which could then be allowed to take office now and then when the Conservatives fell out of favour with the public. Thus British Capitalism, it is argued, will be made safe forever, and socialism would be squeezed of the National agenda. But if such a strategy were to succeed… it would in fact profoundly endanger British society. For it would open up the danger of a swing to the far-right, as we have seen in Europe over the last 50 years.” ― Tony Benn
The Labour activist are now sat in political waiting rooms pacified with the soundtrack of ‘”Things Can Only Get Better” playing constantly while waiting for a rudderless ship to find some direction.
What’s happened to the promise of socialism, where are the policies that will lift up the poor the weak, the abused and those that have fallen on hard times?
Where are the policies of bringing back into public hands Rail, mail and utilities?
Where is the ideal of social justice and equality? In fact, where are the Labour Party Policies Starmer promised? What is a political Party without policies?
Where are the ladders to help the working class up, Eduction, vocational collages, Free tuition?
No, don’t come to me with words of unity, your kind of unity has allowed the Tories to rule unabated for over a decade.
No, don’t come to me with words of unity when all you ever gave was betrayal.
The Labour Party was seriously wounded the moment it denied the ‘Democratic principle’ it was founded upon, from the coup of 2016 to the vote losing second referendum policy of 2019 to place a point in time the Labour Party broke, it was when Starmer turned a composite vote into a leadership campaign in 2018.
The Trilateralist, that agent of the Orlagachy had succeded in his job. From that moment on Labour was in decline and the establishment breathed an audible sigh of relief, rendered safe from the masses once more.
Think again…
