THE Met Police has dropped its investigation into Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein.

The Metropolitan Police said it had carried out two reviews into claims made by women that they had been allegedly abused by Andrew and Epstein but would take “no further action”.

The force will be taking ‘no further action’ into the alleged sex crimes of Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein.

Scotland Yard said after conducting two reviews and reviewing recent material into multiple claims that young women had been groomed or abused on UK soil by the royal and Epstein they would be dropping their investigation.

It comes after it was revealed the Duke of York, 61, was being sued in New York by Virginia Giuffre, now 38, who claims he sexually abused her on three separate occasions when she was 17 in London, New York and on billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s Caribbean island.

The Met had previously examined Ms Giuffre’ allegations against the duke but did not open a full investigation, saying the case was a matter for the US authorities.

After the civil lawsuit was filed in New York, Met Commissioner Cressida Dick said she had asked her officers to review the claim, adding: ‘No one is above the law.’

The prince has always “absolutely and categorically” denied having sex with Giuffre and Buckingham Palace has called the claims “false and without foundation”.

In a statement, Scotland Yard said:

‘The Metropolitan Police Service continues to liaise with other law enforcement agencies who lead the investigation into matters related to Jeffrey Epstein.

However, they have not specified which agencies they are.

“As a matter of procedure MPS, officers reviewed a document released in August 2021 as part of a US civil action.

“This review has concluded and we are taking no further action.

“We also reviewed information passed to us by a media organisation in June 2021. This review is complete and no further action will be taken.’
